Stakes-winning stallion Southern Success   will return to Dana Point Farm, near  Lenhartsville, Penn., for the 2014 breeding season. His stud fee has been set at $1,000, stands and nurses.

During his two-year absence from Dana Point he stood one year at Indiana Stallion Station, near Anderson, and one year at Xanthus Farms, near Gettysburg, Penn.

The son of Dixieland Band is a winner of the Dover Stakes at Delaware Park and retired with two wins, two seconds, and earnings of almost $100,000.

Though his foal crops have been modest, from his 21 starters, Southern Success has sired 15 winners, an impressive 71% win rate. His current leading earners for the year include Southern Parfait, Medford Blue, and Southern Celebrity. Golden Success, his chief lifetime earner, has seven wins and three seconds to his credit and earnings of $223,220.

Bred in Kentucky by Robert E. Low and Lawana Low, Southern Success is out of the A. P. Indy mare My Success.

At Dana Point Southern Success will stand alongside Wiseman’s Ferry  , sire to Horse of the Year Wise Dan, and multiple graded stakes-winning millionaire Sir Shackleton  .

Dana Point Farm will host an open house on Nov. 24 from 10 a.m.-3:00 p.m., when stallions will be available for inspection.
