2008 Pennsylvania older mare of the year passes away due to complications with colic. The great “Jet Away Jane” owned by Golden Oak Farms (Ted & Robin Stepanoff) passed away the morning of Friday April 22nd. The family is devastated at the loss of their multiple stakes winning mare. (Foxy J stakes, Ambassador of Luck Handicap, Day Lilly Stakes, Langhorne Stakes & Russian Rhythm Handicap). The mare recently foaled a Healthy colt out of Jump Start. Originally, the family planned to sell the foal as a yearling, but they have now decided to keep him and race him themselves in honor of “Jane.” The mare has also produced multiple PA Bred winners including: Kid Brown, Alice’s Girls and Anissa — All currently racing.
