The stallion Offlee Wild , who this year stood at Pin Oak Lane Farm in Pennsylvania, has been sold to Turkish interests, Murat Sancal of Sancal Racing in Lexington said Oct. 11.
Offlee Wild, winner of the grade I Suburban Handicap, grade II Massachusetts Handicap, and grade III Excelsior Breeders’ Cup Handicap and Holy Bull Stakes, has been purchased by Tevfik Celikoglu, who last year bought the stallion Dr Fong, Sancal said.
Offlee Wild began his stud career at Darley in Kentucky and spent part of two seasons shuttling to Argentina. He stood this year at Pin Oak Lane for a fee of $4,000.
Offlee Wild is the sire of Bayern, one of the top 3-year-olds of 2014. The colt won the grade I Haskell Invitational and grade II Pennsylvania Derby. Offlee Wild also is the sire of 2009 champion 2-year-old filly She Be Wild.
Offlee Wild, a 14-year-old son of Wild Again, is scheduled to ship to Turkey in mid-November to stand at The Jockey Club of Turkey. He will spend 30 days of quarantine at Sancal Racing at Elmendorf Farm, Sancal said.
