Swagger Jack Moves to Dana Point

Swagger Jack, a grade I-winning son of leading sireSmart Strike  , has relocated to Dana Point Farm near Lenhartsville, Pa., where he will stand the 2016 breeding season for a fee of $3,500.

“The syndicate decided Dana Point Farm would be the ideal location for Swagger Jack to move in Pennsylvania to be able to take part in the lucrative state-bred program,” said syndicate manager Ryan Campbell. “With the state-bred purses increasing and year-round racing, the benefits of owning and breeding Pennsylvania-breds are outstanding. We have worked with Maria Vorhauer and Dana Point Farm for many years, and have always received the best of care and service, and know that Swagger Jack and his clients will receive the best care in the business.”

Swagger Jack stood the 2014 season at Millennium Farms in Kentucky and last year was at Nicks Farm in Indiana.

Bred in Virginia by the late Edward P. Evans and raced by Silverton Hill, Swagger Jack won five of 18 starts and earned $460,519. He won the Carter Handicap (gr. I) in 2013 and also placed in that year’s Gulfstream Park Handicap (gr. II) and Gulfstream Park Sprint Championship Stakes (gr. III).

Swagger Jack is out of Lyrical Prayer, by The Minstrel. Swagger Jack’s half sister, the stakes-winning Grand Prayer (by Grand Slam) is the dam of grade I winner Malibu Prayer, who brought $2 million as part of Evans’ dispersal at the 2011 Keeneland November breeding stock sale.

Swagger Jack will join the grade II winners Sir Shackleton   andVentana, and the stakes-winning Southern Success at Dana Point.
