Hard Spun, a G1 winner and now the sire of many top-class racehorses, including Eclipse Champion Questing, will stand the 2014 breeding season at Sheikh Mohammed’s Darley stud in Japan.
Charlie Boden, Darley’s Head of Sales in America said, “Just like Street Sense was in 2013, Hard Spun will be a fantastic addition to our stallion ranks in Japan. We are constantly looking for ways to enhance and accommodate Sheikh Mohammed’s breeding operations around the globe, but are also looking for ways we can provide breeders access to our stallions on an international scale as well.”
Hard Spun is currently second on the third-crop sire list in North America by progeny earnings, just behind Street Sense. Hard Spun’s number of first-crop Stakes winners places him atop the all-time list in that category following two full seasons of rankings. In addition to Questing, his 23 career stakes winners also include G1 Mother Goose winner Zo Impressive and Moviesta, Europe’s top sprinting three-year-old of 2013.
